The Mansion was originally built as a family home for a wealthy Knoxville merchant in 1917.

In 1982 this home was updated and four bedrooms were added to the front portion of the house and it was converted into a bed and breakfast for the World's Fair, located in Knoxville, Tennessee.

It opened with rave reviews as the Middleton House.

1998 marked another turning point for this Knoxville landmark when new life was breathed into this Grand Old House with new management and caretakers.

Southern hospitality served in an intimate atmosphere is The Maplehurst Inn speciality. A small yellow canopy, a discrete sign, and a pair of old-fashioned lanterns are the only indications of the Maplehurst Inn's presence - designed that way to attract an elite clientele.

Located in quiet and historic Maplehurst Park in downtown Knoxville, travelers will be surrounded by the University of Tennessee, the 1982 World's Fair Park, and the Downtown District.
